The Equipment Be Very Careful What Digital Audio Workstation to Choose Many of the greatest beats have been made in hardware equipment, especially old school tracks. And till that day the Triton, Motif and the legendary MPC still is use by many musicians. But the truth is that software has taken over. The things that your computer do today were only dreamed about years ago. Reason, Fruity Loops, Cubase, Sonar, Logic, Live and many others offer incredible value. But you should be very careful which one to choose. Every production software has its pros and and jumping from one to another just because you like the color of the interface is not going to get you anywhere. Reason is great for any type of music that is electronic you won't be able to record vocals or real instruments. Live is great for loops and FX's but not so much for editing and recording. Logic is the absolute best (T-Pain works on exclusively) but only works on Mac computers. Sonar is right behind logic but is only for PC. If you are starting out and have a PC I highly recommend checking Fruity Loops. It's a lot of fun, it's cheap and it's loaded with features. I would also recommend checking the lite versions of all the softwares first before looking at the $500.00 to $800.00 versions.
